Emily Brown, one of the Vice Captains at Heathfield School, is a very enthusiastic horse rider and had noticed that several members of her Pony Club competed for their schools. With the support of Mr. Brierly, she put together a team of seven senior pupils. The event took place at Grendon Equestrian Centre in Atherstone and six girls competed with their ponies against about ten teams from schools around the country. The event was enormous fun with some members of the team achieving personal bests. Although nobody was placed, it was a fantastic learning experience, and the team looks forward to competing again early in the New Year.

TAPAS

As part of S3’s work on food and drink they were able to sample some of the gastronomic delights of Spain. Home cooked tapas and paella (courtesy of Mrs Furness, Mrs Kerr, Seńora Tidmarsh, Molly Allchurch, Natalie Postings and Aarifah Mahmood) and a selection of cooked meats, chorizo and jamón Serrano were washed down with a glass of sangria (non alcoholic of course!!) Muchisimas gracias por all the contributions and hard work. Quē rico!
