U9 ISA MIDLANDS NETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The U9 girls played in the ISA Midlands Netball Championships on Tuesday 9th March. The competition was a huge success as the weather stayed dry and even the sun began to shine a little.
Heathfield played Mylnhurst first, who were last year’s winners in this age group, but we beat them 4-0 – what a fantastic start! The second match was against Salterford House, newcomers to this event, and we won 3-0. The third match was against the hosts of the tournament Stafford Prep. We knew we had to win this one if we were going to have any chance of winning the tournament. The girls played brilliantly and won 5-1. The final match of the round was against St Dominic’s and we went on to win 4-2.
We were the only school who won all their matches and only two goals were scored against up throughout the whole competition. What a fantastic result for everyone. Well played girls!
Many thanks also for the support offered by parents on the day, it was very much appreciated. Looking forward to next year.

U10 ISA MIDLANDS NETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The U10 girls played in the ISA Midlands Netball Championships on Tuesday 9th March.
They were all very nervous and excited but looking forward to playing in the tournament. As last year’s winners, Heathfield were expected to be a strong team, the one to win.
Our first match was against Mylnhurst, a school that we had a close match with last year. After a very close game Heathfield just lost 3-2. The second match was against Castle House, another very strong team. Heathfield kept their composure and won the game 4-2. This gave Heathfield some confidence and they then went on to play St Wystan’s and won 4-1. As their confidence grew so did the score line. They went into the fourth match against St Dominic’s and won 8-0.
The final match we knew was crucial. It was against the hosts of the competition. We went 4-2 up and thought we had the game won, but Stafford Prep came back hard and drew the game 4-4. This means that there was a tie for 2nd and 3rd and it had to go on goal difference. We had unfortunately scored one less goal than Stafford and were awarded 3rd place, all the girls got a bronze medal.
Congratulations to all the girls. All of them played so well and they were a credit to the school.
