UNDER 16 (YEAR 10 AND 11) NATIONAL ISA RUGBY SEVENS CHAMPIONSHIPS
A keen and enthusiastic squad of S4 and S5 rugby boys travelled to Leamington Spa RUFC to play in the National ISA Sevens competition. Heathfield were placed in a tough group with large schools from Penzance, Norwich, Kent and Hull. We lost two games narrowly (both these teams played out in the final) and won two games well and ended up going through to the plate competition. This is when the boys began to believe in themselves and played unbelievably brilliant sevens rugby. In fact they progressed in the plate competition to win the semi final 52 – 0 and then won the PLATE FINAL 39 – 0. An outstanding team and squad performance by a talented bunch. |
