Heathfield Day Nursery

Nestling within the spacious grounds of the main school is the Day Nursery and Pre-School. The unit caters for babies and toddlers aged from three months to rising five. Heathfield Day Nursery offers a secure and caring environment where little ones develop play skills in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The Day Nursery is a bright, homely building full of exciting and stimulating indoor and outdoor play equipment. Children enjoy cooking, painting and starring in their own colourful plays. There are lots of specially chosen, fun activities to encourage physical and language development.

At rising three, your son or daughter will join their friends in the Pre-School section of the Day Nursery. Together we will lay the foundations for your child's happy and successful school life. They will learn how to get on with other children and, at the same time, acquire elementary literacy and numeracy skills.

When the weather permits, we explore the school's extensive grounds and playing fields. If we need to stay indoors, we run about and play in the spacious and well-equipped sports hall.

Parents whose children attend the baby unit of Heathfield Day Nursery can choose to book their child in for a half-day, a half-day with lunch, a complete school day, a full day or an afternoon with tea. The minimum requirement for attendance is only three half-day sessions per week. The baby unit remains open for fifty weeks a year.

In the Pre-School section, children can attend for a full day, a morning with lunch or a half-day. After-school and before-school care is available to fit in with your working hours. Morning care between 8.00 and 8.30am is charged as one session at £3.65. Afternoon care from 4.00 to 5.00pm is charged at £5.20 (inclusive of tea) and between 5.00 and 6.00pm is charged as another session at £4.70. The day nursery pre-school is open during term time only but a holiday club is available to assist with parents' working arrangements.

Heathfield Day Nursery, Pre-School and Reception are the foundation for the main school. During their time with us, your children, in our care, will learn the value of play and how to prepare for learning. When they move into the Lower School, with their friends, they will be equipped to take full advantage of the many opportunities to help them develop into valuable members of the Heathfield community.
