Heathfield Lower/Middle School Curriculum

Heathfield Independent School offers a broad and balanced curriculum in which the core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science are strongly promoted in all year groups. In year three French is introduced as a first foreign language.

Lessons in all subjects are well structured and varied which maintains the children's interest, enthusiasm and motivation. Your child will be encouraged to make good use of the school's library and computers from the very earliest age. As classes are so small, Heathfield pupils make rapid progress in academic studies, which leaves plenty of time to expand your child's physical and creative talents. All children participate in Physical Education and Games instruction and have regular music, drama and art lessons.

Personal Social Health and Economic education (PSHE) is explored in the classroom, via extra-curricular activities and developed through the school's relationship with the local community. PSHE education is a planned, developmental programme of learning designed to help learners develop the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to manage their lives, now and in the future.
