Remembrance Assembly 2016
14/11/2016

A moving and poignant remembrance assembly held at Heathfield on Friday 11th November. Mr. Stubbs led the remembrance assembly with Year 11 pupils reading memoirs from the Old Wolvernians, allowing us to see war through the eyes of Heathfield pupils. The eleventh day of the eleventh month at the eleventh hour, we will remember them.

'Hopeless' King John
14/11/2016

On Tuesday 1st November Year 7 pupils enjoyed a fun day at Worcester Cathedral learning about 'Hopeless' King John. The day involved a variety of fascinating activities, firstly looking at John's tomb, which is displayed in the Cathedral and using the symbols on it, to draw conclusions about John's reputation. Pupils then visited the 'King John Exhibition' and completed a fact sheet about John's life story and then the day culminated in pupil's acting out various scenes of John's life in fancy dress and made a judgement about his Kingship. Hopefully, year 7 have now decided where John fits on their line of worst Medieval kings.

Harvest Festival Assembly 2016
07/10/2016

A wonderful morning was had here at Heathfield, parents and grandparents turned out in force to help celebrate Fairtrade week with a Harvest Assembly. Early Years sang a song and showed us just what Fairtrade is all about with some fabulous acting. Rev. Nigel Taylor from Cookley Church helped us understand why Fairtrade is so important, he got us all singing with actions included! Years 5 and 6 sang a rendition of 'John Barleycorn', Middle and Upper School choral speakers read an autumnal verse and some of our Year 11's led us in thoughtful prayers. A big thank you to everyone that donated to a very good cause, the food has been boxed up and is off to a local food bank; you will have helped feed a family less fortunate than yourselves.

03/10/2016

For European Day of Languages, Heathfield Students held an Erasmus Fayre to help raise funds for Save the Children’s Refugee Campaign, they did a great job and raised a wonderful £170.  A fantastic amount of money for a worthy cause, well done to all the pupils and teachers who spent their time and money throughout the event. A special well done to all the Languages department and Erasmus Students for all their hard work! A School community that always works hard for others.
