Taking Care Seriously
17/05/2012

Heathfield School has recently taken delivery of a defibrillator and now has trained staff on site who can use the equipment if necessary. As a school, we take our responsibility for the care of your children very seriously and the machine we have purchased is suitable for adults, but converts easily for use on even the youngest child. We hope, of course, that we shall never have to use the defibrillator but we are confident that we can now give children, parents, staff and visitors the best possible chance if the worst happens.

Birmingham Botanical Gardens
17/05/2012

J2 had a fantastic day at Birmingham Botanical Gardens. The sun shone all day and even the peacock put on a show for them. The children were able to develop their understanding of plant life throughout the world in the various glasshouses that replicate different climate zones. At the end of the day there was still plenty of time for them to enjoy the imaginative play equipment within the grounds.

J3 visit West Midlands Safari Park
09/05/2012

Heathfield teacher, Mr. Champs took part in a ‘head to head’ teachers quiz on Wyvern FM’s ‘Hursty and Helen in the Morning’ breakfast show. On a tie break question he buzzed in first, got the answer right and won a trip for Year 3 to West Midland Safari Park. The prize included entry to the reserves, wristbands for the children and staff, an on-coach safari guide and a ‘creature feature’ discovery session where the children were able to handle creepy crawlies from the park’s discovery zone. The trip was arranged for the beginning of May and the children and staff had an absolutely fantastic day. Even the weather was kind.

New Play Equipment
03/05/2012

As many parents are aware the PA has been fundraising recently in order to purchase new adventure play equipment for theLowerJuniorSchoolchildren. This duly arrived during the Easter Holidays and was erected ready for the children’s return. Since then it has rained and rained and we have only just been able to dash out and get some photographs when it has been dry enough for pupils to use it. As you can see they are having a wonderful time. The equipment, which is outside Cedar Building, will give years of fun to so many children and we would like to thank everybody involved for their hard work and generosity.

23/03/2012

We ran it, we skipped it, we piggy backed it, we leapfrogged it, we did it blindfold, we somersaulted it, we did it backwards. We all did the sport relief mile and we raised over £570!
